It is really great to see the sealing of Settlement Road (from the Kaiwaka-Mangawhai Road up to the Hakaru Hall) come to fruition. As a founding member of the Hakaru Pony Club I have fond memories of this area from my formative years.

There has been significant growth on Settlement Road and in the general Hakaru area over a number of years. Having heard from local residents, as an elected member group we prioritised this upgrade in our Long Term Plan for completion this financial year. This now provides seamless sealed access to the Hakaru Hall , Hakaru Pony Club, and Hakaru RSA in this increasingly vibrant community.

The road upgrade will be completed with sweeping and road marking over the next couple of weeks.Thanks to our contractor Downer NZ for delivering much needed improvements on Kaipara District Council roads.
